Etical Advisory Board (EAB)
Thge Ethical Advisory Board will monitor all issues with respect to observation of ethical principles in human and animal studies. The Ethical Advisory Board will also organize ethics courses on a regular basis at annual meetings.
Prof. Wim Dekkers
Wim Dekkers (1948) studied medicine and philosophy at the University of Nijmegen. After graduating as a medical doctor in 1976 he worked in a psychiatric hospital during one year and as a locum in several general practices. He finished his study of philosophy by taking a master’s degree in 1979. From 1978 until 1991 he was a member of the Department of Philosophical Anthropology of the Catholic University of Nijmegen while he continued to work (part-time) as a general practitioner. In 1985 he took his doctoral degree in philosophy. Since 1991 he has been working at the Department of Ethics, Philosophy and History of Medicine of the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center. From 1993 till 2011 he has also been a senior researcher of the Center for Ethics of the Radboud University Nijmegen. He is one of the founders of the Dutch Society for Philosophy and Medicine . From 2004 - 2010 he was one of the editors-in-chief of Medicine Healthcare and Philosophy. He is the Nijmegen coordinator of the Erasmus Mundus Master of Bioethics program. At the moment he is associate professor Philosophy of Medicine and Principle Lecturer in the section of Ethics, Philosophy and History of Medicine of the Scientific Institute for Quality of Healthcare of Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. His research concentrates on philosophical and ethical aspects of palliative care and emerging medical technologies.
Prof. Kris Dierickx
Kris Dierickx is full professor of biomedical ethics and a staff member of the Centre for biomedical ethics and law, Faculty of Medicine (KULeuven, Belgium). His research and publications focus on ethics in genetics, research ethics, regenerative medicine, and biobanks.
Kris Dierickx was also the coordinator of the EC funded FP6 project GeneBanC :Genetic bio and dataBanking: Confidentiality and protection of data towards a European harmonisation and policy. He is partner in several national and international research consortia (eg. EuroPHEN, GeneBanC, EuroCareCF, STPES, Eurogentest, Disk Regeneration).
Kris Dierickx is member of several ethics ommittees, editorial boards, and acts as an ethics reviewer for FP7 projects and ERC grants.
Dr. Severin Laeuchli
Dr. Severin Laeuchli completed his medical studies at the University of Zurich in 1995. Thereafter he continued his training with residencies in Angiology, Internal Medicine and Dermatology and is a board certified Dermatologist since 2004. Since 2001 he works for the Department of Dermatology of the University of Zurich and in private practice. He is now responsible for the areas dermatologic surgery, wound healing, acne and hyperhidrosis. He is the president of the Swiss Association for Woundcare (SAfW) and a former council member and current member of the education committee of the European Wound Management Association (EWMA).
